A housewife reportedly committed suicide in Faridpur's Saltha upazila on Thursday.
The dead was identified as Nasima Begum, 35, wife of Akkas Ali, a resident of Char Bangrail village under Sonapur union of the upazila.According to police, the woman took poison following a dispute over family matter with her husband at their rented house.
Local people rushed her Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex. from where she was referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital but she died on the way.
According to the family of the deceased, Nasima was Akkas Ali's second wife. The first wife of Akkas Ali lives in his own house at Char Bangrail village of the upazila. Akkas Ali lives with his second wife in a rented house at Fulbaria village.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Saltha Police Station Mohammad Faizur Rahman said, the body has been recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy. An unnatural death case has been filed in this regard.
