Police recovered the body of a housewife from her residence at Koroitola village of Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Kulsum Akter, 20, wife of Shah Alam of Koroitola village of Araihazar upazila.
Victim’s father-in-law and mother-in-law were detained for questioning, police said.
Husband Shah Alam is fugitive from the residence since police recovered his wife’s body.
Minara Begum, elder sister of the deceased, said that two years ago her sister married Shah Alam. But Shah Alam had extra marital affair with his elder brother’s wife and thus family feud ran between them.
Officer-in-Charge of Araihazar police station Nazrul Islam said that apparently it was suspected that the husband beat his wife to death.
Body was sent to morgue for postmortem.
