A housewife died of coronavirus in Jashore on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Nurunnahar, 42, wife of Ajibor Rahman of Chormara Dighirpar area in Jashore district town.
Nurunnahar died at the isolation ward of Chest Disease Hospital in Jashore in the early hours on Sunday. This information has been confirmed by the Dr Palashkumar Pal of the hospital.
According to the hospital sources, the housewife contracted corona on August 5. She has since been treated at Covid-19 dedicated hospital in the district.
She died at the hospital when she was undergoing treatment there. Meanwhile, the health department said that a total of 10,200 samples had been collected from eight upazilas of Jashore district till Saturday night. Of these, 8,748 samples have been tested.
