A man was stabbed to death and his brother was injured by their tenant at Shahinbagh in the capital's Tejgaon area early Saturday.
The deceased was identified Md Roni, 28. His elder brother Rafiq Miah, 31, was injured when he was tried to save Roni.
Jewel, nephew of the victims, said his uncles among three were gossiping at tenant Morshed's room at night.
Suddenly they locked into an altercation over an issue and at one stage, Morshed attacked Rony with a knife 2:30am.
When his brother tried to save Rony, Morshed also stabbed him.
Both the brothers were rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 3:30am where doctors declared Roni dead at 4am, said SI Yunus Ali Faraji of Tejgaon Police Station.
Jewel said Roni was a ride-sharing biker.
His body has been sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
