The Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) has announced admissions for honours degrees in cricket, swimming, and athletics for the academic year 2024. The application deadline is June 23, 2024. This is a unique chance for students to pursue higher education while continuing their sports training.
BKSP introduced honours programs in these sports last year. However, only the cricket program received sufficient applicants, enrolling 24 students. Among them is Shaheen Alam, a member of the U19 World Cup-winning team in 2020. Shaheen expressed his satisfaction with the support from both teachers and coaches at BKSP, which helps him balance studies and practice effectively.
BKSP is the only institution in the country offering a four-year degree focused on specific sports, unlike other universities that provide general courses in physical education. This initiative aims to develop skilled sports professionals who can meet future challenges in the sports arena. The curriculum emphasizes sports science, sports management, and the history of Bangladesh's sports development. In the final year, students will take a course on sports journalism.
The admission test will be held on June 27 at BKSP, Savar. Applicants need to fill out the admission form online and bring a print copy on the exam day. They must also participate in a health and sportsmanship test, bringing the necessary equipment for their sport. Results will be announced on July 4 on the BKSP website.
For more details, visit the BKSP website or contact the college branch in Jirani, Savar during office hours.
This is a golden opportunity for young athletes to excel in their sport while pursuing higher education.
