Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid on Sunday said that honest, fearless and efficient people will be appointed as per the law in the formation of Election Commission (EC).
He said this in response to a question while talking to reporters in the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat on Sunday.
Abdur Rashid said, "According to the law, honest, fearless and efficient people will be appointed. The law says so. I am not a member of the search committee. We will provide secretarial support to the committee.
The Cabinet Secretary said ‘the next steps will be according to the decision taken on Sunday’s meeting. The search committee will determine their procedure. They will decide how the other works will be done.
Replying to a question, Abdur Rashid said, according to the law, this committee will give recommendations within 15 working days. We cannot say when the President will form the Election Commission.
