Firoza Begum, who was living with two disabled children in a goat house, got a new house as a gift from the Prime Minister. The Deputy Commissioner of Shariatpur district handed over the house as a gift from the Prime Minister at around 11:30 am on Friday.
District administration officials said that Firoza Begum lived with her two physically challenged children, Sohag and Emon, in a dilapidated goat house. She did not get a government house even after applying anywhere. For a long period of time, Firoza lived an inhuman life with her two disabled children. Her husband Ruhul Amin left her and those two children long ago. After the news was published, the issue came to the notice of Damudya Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Sadiqur Rahman Sabuj. He notified the proper authorities to take immediate action.
Damudya Upazila Parishad Chairman Alamgir Hossain Majhi, Damudya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sadiqur Rahman Sabuj, Assistant Commissioner Sabita Sarkar, Damudya Municipality Mayor Rezaul Karim Raja Chayal, Damudya Press Club President Shafiqul Islam Sohel and other journalists in print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Firoza Begum, who was overjoyed to get a house said, "I didn't have a house. After the journalists saw my suffering and reported the news, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave me a house. May God bless Prime Minister for her noble deeds. Now I can stay safely with my children at a proper house.”

Firoza Begum became emotional during the inauguration of the house. She expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the officials of the administration and said, "I have worked hard all my life and I don't understand what happiness is . It is good to think that I will live in a well-built house at the end of my life.”
Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner Md Parvez Hasan said no family will be homeless in the country. He is constantly working under the direction of the Prime Minister. The news about Firoza Begum was very touching to him as he personally tried his best to get her a house as soon as possible.
DC Parvez Hasan said, “We are very happy to give the house to the physically challenged family of the Asrayan project. I am grateful to have the opportunity to stand by the helpless people through the Asrayan project. Those who are involved with the Asrayan project, who are aware of such issues, let us know and help us to take necessary steps in various matters.
