The history was looking back 50 years to March 7, 1971 when hundreds of students were passionately reciting the 7th March speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Jhenidah on Sunday.
Organized by Jhenaidah district administration, thousands of people including students, teachers, government and non-government officials, political activists, social workers and cultural activists rushed to hear the speech at Bir Shreshtha Sepoy Hamidur Rahman Stadium in Jhenaidah.
The audiences at the entire stadium observing pin-drop silence when the students were shouting the Historic 7th March speech unanimously. The sound was reflecting everywhere around the venue creating a unique environment.
A number of students after witnessing the programme said they felt excited hearing the speech of Bangabandhu and imagined what it would feel like to hear the speech in the voice of Bangabandhu himself.
Some freedom fighters when asked said they have been feeling the absence of the Father of the Nation most as some of the politicians have been polluting the environment for democratic practices. The voice of Bangabandhu from the Historic 7th March speech still encourages them to fight against all odds including corruption and anomalies in the society. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenidah Saroj Kumar Nath when contacted said they organized the event so that the future generation can be inspired by the spirit of the speech of the Father of the Nation and can fight against the obstacles in all spheres of life as Bangabandhu desired.
