Hindu women enjoy Sindurkhela marking Durga Puja

The Hindu community women in Jhenaidah enjoyed the game Sindurkhela marking the last day of their largest religious festival Durga Puja on Friday morning. The event was held immediately before leaving of their Goddess Durga for immersion in the water of local water bodies. The Sindur game was held at Bawari Puja Mandap, Chaklapara Puja Mandap, Kalitala Puja Mandap and other Mandaps where hundreds of married young women were engaged to exchange Sindur among them.

Madhabi Rani Das and Arpana Sheal at Kalitala Puja Mandap in the town when contacted said they enjoy the Sindurkhela before offering it in the legs of Goddess Durga on the last day Vijoya Dashami. 

They use the Sindur round the year as it removes all odds and dissatisfaction form the family and prevails peace and prosperity over the globe. They pray to Goddess Durga for the well being of their husbands, children and near and dear ones.
