Hefazat activists vandalise UNO's Bungalow

Hefazat activists stormed a rally in Narayanganj's Sonargaon resort on Saturday night in protest of the blockade of Maulana Mamunul Haque, the Joint General Secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, along with a woman. 

Various organizations in Kishoreganj were attacked after that and vandalized from the procession. The attack continued from 09:45 pm to 11:30 pm. Several guards, including police, were reportedly injured in the clashes.

Police said they hurled brickbats at the police as they tried to resist the guards. Hefazat activists attacked and vandalized the office of the Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land), the bungalow of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the Trilokyanath Maharaj Memorial Library and many other institutions. At this time, panic spread in the whole area. There were frequent chases and clashes between the police and the guards.

Kuliarchar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) AKM Sultan Mahmud said 10 people, including six policemen, were injured in the incident. Police fired five rounds of rubber bullets to control the situation. Kuliarchar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rubaiyat Ferdousi said the attackers vandalized the Upazila Land Office and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer's bungalow.
