People in Chuadanga suffer due to excessive hot weather. The temperature in the district is getting higher day by day.
On Saturday at around 3pm, 41.7 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature of the country, was recorded in the district. The humidity was 42 percent at that time.
This year, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Chuadanga for several times. For the past one week, a heatwave was sweeping over the district.
Chuadanga met office said that the temperature in Chuadanga was in between 34 degrees to 39 degrees Celsius from May 6 to May 23. The temperature was 40 degrees Celsius and humidity was 42 percent on Friday. On Sunday, the temperature hit 41.7 degree Celsius and the humidity was 42 percent in Chuadanga. On the same day at 9:00am, the temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius and the humidity was 58 percent. However, later on the same day at 12 noon, the temperature rose to 40 degrees Celsius during which humidity was 39 percent. Humid air coupled with the high temperature has made daily life unbearable.
Rakibul Hassan, the senior observer of Chuadanga first class weather office, said the temperature in Chuadanga was fluctuating between 34 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius from May 6 to May 24. On Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm the highest temperature was recorded at 41.7 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.
He also said the weather is hot as the humidity is more. Meanwhile, people in the district have been facing immense sufferings due to scorching hot weather. Excessive heat during daytime and humid weather at night has become a regular phenomenon in the region. The people of the district experienced the highest temperature in many days this summer. Earlier on April 30, the highest temperature of the country, 43.8 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Chuadanga.
The farmers, day laborers, children and elderly people of the district were the worst suffers of the ongoing heatwave. Crops and vegetable production were hampered badly in the district due to excessive hot weather.
