Today's children is our future and they will be the builders of the country. DNCC Mayor Md Atiqul Islam said that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure a healthy and beautiful environment for future generations.
The mayor made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of distribution of new clothes among 14000 (fourteen thousand) children in the hall room of Nagar Bhaban of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) head office on Monday.
DNCC and Daraz Bangladesh jointly organized the event. Starting today, new clothes will be distributed among 14,000 children in ten wards under DNCC till Eid.
At the same time, he said, "We have to think about the future generation at every moment. These are the future Bangladesh. Today's children will lead this city, country and the world in the future. We have a responsibility to make sure that our children have the opportunity to grow up. It is our responsibility to make sure that our children do not have to worry about the consequences of their actions.”
He directed the DNCC officials to conduct a mobile court so that no unfit buses could run from the bus
terminals so that people could travel safely to their homes during the upcoming Eid.
He also directed the DNCC officials to work in coordination with BRTA (Bangladesh Road Transport Authority) and DMP (Dhaka Metropolitan Police) to ensure a safe Eid journey.
He said, "Eid happiness cannot be ruined by running unfit buses. I urge the bus owners not to run any unfit bus.”
Among others present on the occasion were DNCC CEO Md Selim Reza, Councilors, Daraz Bangladesh Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Hasinul Quddus Rusho, Head of Stakeholder Relations Shamsul Islam.
Earlier, digital blind sticks and daily necessities were distributed among 300 (three hundred) visually impaired, destitute, old and helpless families organized by "Amara Manush Foundation"in DNCC Nagar Bhaban under the patronage of Shamima Islam Tusti, President of "Amara Manush Foundation”.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said, "Father of the Nation Bangabandhu was engaged in human service all his life, always stood by the helpless people. We have to cherish the ideals of Bangabandhu and serve the people.”
