ABM Khorshed Alam, Director General of Health, expresses regret at the ban on the entrance of journos inside Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for last five years. He said no work should be performed by keeping the journalists away.
He was exchanging views with the journalists in Rajshahi after his visit to RMCH and attending a meeting with the high-ups at the hospital on Sunday.
ABM Khorshed Alam said that he came to learn that the journalists are not allowed to enter into the hospital for the last five years. He mentions, if he had been responsible for such an incident, he was expressing regret and seeking pardon from the journalists.
He further said, media of the country is very strong and if the journalists do not highlight the development of the government health services, people will not know that. He requested the Director of the hospital to keep contact with the media and to co-operate them in their work. He also requested the Director to take action according to the situation.
DG Health remarked RMCH was working well for the treatment of Coronavirus patients. He mentioned, the management of the hospital was better than many other hospitals in Dhaka. He also said the directive for the vaccine of Corona will be given by the Prime Minister or the Health Minister.
He added, the ministry was continuing homework so that Bangladesh can get the vaccine as soon as it is invented.
ABM Khroshed Alam was accompanied by Farid Hossain Mia, Director, Department of Health ( Hospital and clinic), Dr. Naoshad Ali, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College, Dr. Gopendranath Acharya, Director of Health, Rajshahi division and Brigadier General Jamilur Rahman, Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
