A health camp has been launched for the sanitation workers of Cox's Bazar Municipality. At the same time, protective materials and medicines have been distributed among the cleaning workers.
On Thursday noon, mayor of the municipality Mahabubur Rahman Chowdhury inaugurated the programme at Shahid Daulat Maidan of Cox's Bazar Public Library.
He said the role of cleaning workers is important in protecting the environment. Therefore, all must work in unison to ensure proper remuneration and health protection of the workers.
In the programme, 300 sanitation workers of the municipality were screened and free medicines were distributed among them.
After that, Mayor Mahabubur Rahman distributed protective materials among the cleaning workers. Protective equipment includes masks, gloves, gum boots, gowns, sanitizers, sanitary pads, etc.
Councillor Akhtar Kamal Azad, MA Manzoor, Slum Development Officer Shamim Akhtar and Sanitary Inspector Abdu Rahim, among others, were present.
