BCS Health Cadre Association held a sit-in programme in front of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) office in Dhaka's Mohakhali on Tuesday, demanding the immediate removal of all corrupt officials at the DGHS, including its director general.
The health cadre officials demanded the resignation of the DG as he took steps to postpone the order of cancelling the postings of officials, who were appointed on an ad hoc basis.
They also demanded the cancellation of all illegal recruitments, promotions and postings at the DGHS.
During the sit-in, the officials alleged that there had been huge irregularities and corruptions in the directorate in the last 15 years.
They will go for a long-term programme if their demands are not met soon.
