Relief was distributed among poor, helpless, unemployed newspaper hawkers in front of the Prithibi Book Stall Newspaper Agent Shop at Station Road in Dinajpur on Saturday at the initiative of Dinajpur Hawkers Multipurpose Cooperative Association.
Dinajpur District Lawyers Association's Deputy General Secretary Advocate Sarwar Ahmed Babu distributed the relief as the chief guest. Ward no 11 Awami League unit's President Goura Chandra Sheel and Awami League leader Alamgir Islam Tuhin were present as special guests.
The chief guest said that every day, the hawkers are delivering the newspaper moving from house to house. Readers are becoming aware of the overall situation of the corona virus staying at home reading the newspapers. I think it is the moral duty of the society to assist the helpless hawkers in the situation. The government should come forward for their welfare, he added.
