Ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina allegedly took plots for all the members of her family at Purbachal housing project under Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK).

She (Sheikh Hasina) took a total of 60 kathas of land for her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul at Pubachal housing in the capital, an official concerned said.

Her younger sister Sheikh Rehana and nephew Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby and niece Tulip Siddiq were also given 10 khata plot each.

Thus six members of Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana’s families were allocated a total of 90 kathas of land from the reserved RAJUK plots.

The allotment letters were issued on August 3, 2022 and were sent to the address of Suda Sadan residence of Sheikh Hasina.

The whole process of the plot allotment was completed very secretly when Anisur Rahman was the RAJUK chairman, sources said.

Some RAJUK officials said that the lands were handed over very secretly in 2022.

The allotment process was completed in such a secret way that only a very few senior RAJUK officials were aware of it.

Each katha of land was valued at Tk 3 lakh only, meaning Tk 30 lakh was fixed for 10 katha of plot in Purbachal.

Nayeeb Ali Sharif, deputy director of RAJUK state and land-3 of RAJUK signed the letter.

Sheikh Hasina was given plot No-9 at Road no 203 under Sector-27 in the proposed diplomatic zone of Purbachal project.

Her son was given plot no 015 while her daughter was given plot no 017. A RAJUK official on condition of anonymity said after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s regime, the files on the plots for Sheikh Hasina and her family members were removed from the record room.

Some RAJUK officials brought out a procession against the hiding of the files. Later, the files were again kept at the record room. RAJUK allocated a total of 285 plots from its reserved plots between 2018 to 2021. Among the plots, 149 were allocated to Awami League-backed MPs, senior government officials and leaders of Awami League and its front organisations.
