Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud Friday said the vow of the victory day is to build a fully developed country by 2041 alongside transforming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's digital Bangladesh into a smart Bangladesh.
"By eliminating all anti-national, anti-independence forces and conspiracies, including BNP, a fully developed country by 2041 should be built. The conviction of the victory day should be transforming PM's digital Bangladesh into a smart Bangladesh. It is our dream," he said.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, was talking to the journalists after placing a wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city's Dhanmondi, marking the 52nd Victory Day of the nation.
The minister added that the anti-liberation evil-forces, who killed the country's predecessor-freedom fighters and took up arms against the freedom-seeking people, Jamaat-e-Islami, their descendants, and all the leaders of the BNP are now engaged in anti-national conspiracies.
He said from the World Bank and the President of the United States to the Secretary General of the United Nations, everyone is appreciating the development progress of Bangladesh.
"But while the country is moving forward, even after five decades of the independence of the country, the anti-liberation forces are plotting conspiracies against the country. They are giving wrong information about the country to foreigners and are involved in conspiracies at home and abroad," he continued.
Noting that under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the struggle for the country's independence began, he said Bangabandhu could not realize his dreams because he was killed on August 15, 1975.
"Under the leadership of Bangabandhu's worthy daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has made incredible progress in the last 14 years on the way to materializing the dreams of Bangabandhu," he said.
"We have elevated to a middle-income country alongside becoming self-sufficient in food," he added.
