ACS (Home) TVSN Prasad said 176 people have been arrested and 78 taken into preventive detention since Monday when clashes erupted. Further, 93 FIRs have been registered in five districts, including 46 in Nuh, 23 in Gurugram and 18 in Palwal. Prasad added that an IRB battalion has been deployed in Nuh, while a RAF Centre will soon be established in Mewat.

The police on Thursday said that two incidents of fire were reported at two mosques in ward no 13 in Tauru, Nuh, and investigation to ascertain the causes is on. Further, the curfew in the area was lifted between 10 am and 1 pm, and the suspended internet will be temporarily restored between 1 pm and 4 pm. Internet services have been suspended in Nuh, Faridabad and Palwal districts and in three sub-divisions of the Gurgaon district — Sohna, Pataudi and Manesar — till August 5.

On Wednesday, state home minister Anil Vij said that social media played a significant role in fuelling the violence in Nuh and that a three-member committee has been tasked with monitoring social media activities from July 21. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday sought four more companies of central forces, and said one battalion of the Indian Reserve Battalion will also be deployed in violence-hit Nuh. CM Khattar also said a total of 116 people have been arrested and 90 detained since Monday’s clashes in Nuh.
