Many of them don't have water connection, many don’t have any soap and many have no basin. People are not using these basins as these are dirty and untidy.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed fears that a second wave of corona virus may hit the country in the coming winter.
The Prime Minister also informed about various initiatives of the government to deal with the situation. As part of the initiative, it has been said that if you want to take services in government and non-government organizations, you must wear a mask.

Recently, a letter has been sent to all the ministries, senior secretaries, secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and upazila executive officers with such instructions from the cabinet division.
According to the Upazila Public Health Engineering Department, five hand washing basins were officially installed at various important public gathering points in Ishwardi Upazila at the beginning of April. The Department of Public Health Engineering Pabna constructed these 5 basins at a total cost of Tk 1.5 lakh.
Visiting the areas, it was seen that the basins are in a state of disrepair. Some of them do not have water, while some of them do not have soap even though they have water system. There is dust and dirt. No one wants to wash their hands in the basin because it has not been cleaned for a long time.
When asked, Mahabub Alam, an engineer at the Ishwardi office of the Public Health Engineering Department, said people were not using the basins due to lack of awareness. However, he said, if there are any problem in any basin, it will be fixed quickly.
