An inter upazila handball tournament was inaugurated in Jhenaidah marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The tournament was inaugurated at Bir Shrestha Sepoy Hamidur Rahman Stadium on Sunday.
Presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenaidah Saroj Kumar Nath, MP from Jhenaidah-1 constituency Abdul Hyee attended the function as the chief guest. Superintendent of Police (SP) Muntasirul Islam and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Badruddoza Subho were also present at the event.
Jhenaidah Sadar upazila team fought against Shailkupa upazila in the first event, while Shailkupa team fought against their Moheshpur upazila counterpart on the inaugural day. A total of six upazila teams are participating in the league-based tournament.
