The admission process for 7th-grade students in 12 cadet colleges of Bangladesh is set to begin soon. These residential institutions, supervised by the Adjutant Branch of the Bangladesh Army under the Ministry of Defence, are known for shaping cadets through both academics and co-curricular activities. The admission notice is likely to be published in late October or early November.
Currently, there are 12 cadet colleges, with 9 for boys and 3 for girls. Admission to these colleges for the 2024 academic year will be based on a written test, oral test, and health check. The entrance test will follow the syllabus of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) for 6th grade. The test subjects will include Mathematics (100 marks), English (100 marks), Bengali (60 marks), and General Knowledge (40 marks), making a total of 300 marks.
Students must meet specific eligibility criteria to apply. They should be citizens of Bangladesh, have passed the 6th grade or an equivalent exam, and be no older than 13 years and 6 months as of January 1, 2024. The minimum required height is 4 feet 8 inches for both boys and girls additionally, students must be physically and mentally fit.
