The first-year undergraduate classes for the academic year 2023-24 in cluster-affiliated general and science and technology (GST) universities will begin on September 1. Before this, students listed in the third stage merit list must confirm their initial admission online through the GST website on August 19 and 20.

This information was announced in a press release on Saturday, August 17. The decision was made during the 18th meeting of the GST Integrated Admission Test Committee, held on August 16 via the Zoom platform. The meeting was chaired by Md. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology and convener of the GST committee.

During the meeting, prayers were offered for the students who lost their lives during the anti-discrimination student movement. Condolences were extended to the bereaved families, and best wishes were given for the recovery of those injured and undergoing treatment. The interim government headed by Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, formed after the coup on August 5, was also congratulated.

On August 14, the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) requested the swift completion of the remaining admission activities to ensure the students' educational progress. Following this, the GST committee decided that students listed in the third stage merit list can confirm their initial admission by paying a fee of 5,000 taka online between 12:00 pm on August 19 and 12:00 pm on August 20 using their ID and password on the GST website.

Final admission will be confirmed by submitting the required original documents and the final admission fee, as per the instructions of the respective universities. More information about the admission process is available at https://gstadmission.ac.bd.
