21 August grenade attack day was observed at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday with solemnity.
Marking the day, the authority brought out a protest rally led by its Vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Shaikh Abdus Salam around 9:00 am in front of the administrative building of the university.
Parading the main through-fares of the university the rally ended at the ‘Mrittunjoyee Mujub’ mural while Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr. M Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer Prof Dr. M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, and registrar H M Ali Hasan were present.
Later, IU VC places a floral wreath on the mural along with its Pro-VC, treasurer, and registrar. Bangabandhu Parishad, Shapla forum, different halls, and IU BCL unit also offered a floral wreath at the same place.
In the end, prayer and one-minute solicitude were offered for the eternal peace of martyrs who were brutally killed on the day.
