GPH Ispat launches solar power project

GPH Ispat has launched solar power projects on its factory premises and rooftops to ensure a clean and green Bangladesh to fulfil its commitments to global climate targets and for a sustainable future.

GPH Ispat Limited and Munshiganj-based GPH Group, Eco Ceramics commissioned 3.9 MWP and 2.14 MWP solar power projects at the factory on October 20.

 At the installation ceremony in Chittagong, GPH Executive Director (Finance and Business Development) Kamrul Islam FCA, Chief Operating Officer T Mohan Babu, BUET EEE Department Professor Dr.  Md Ziaur Rahman Khan, United International University Center for Energy Research Director Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury and GPH Renewable Energy Limited Project Director Engineer Mosiur Rahman were present.

The installed rooftop solar PV system will generate 132.8 million units of electricity over a 20-year project, reduce GPH Group's carbon footprint by saving 89,000 tonnes from the national grid and contribute to building a clean and green Bangladesh.  The project is funded by the Infrastructure Development Company.
