Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed said that Bangladesh wants to send workers to Malaysia without any kind of syndicate.
“At the same time, the government wants to send workers to the country from a data bank under the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET),” he added.
The minister made the statement while speaking at a press conference organized on the occasion of International Migrants Day-2021 in the meeting room of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment on Friday.
He said, “We know a lot has happened in the past about the Malaysian labor market. After taking responsibility, I have been trying to resolve the problems that existed in the past. Whether I succeed or not will depend on the signing of the agreement. However, I will stand by my previous promise. I am not in favor of any syndicate.”
He said that the proposal that has been sent made no mention of the syndicate.
After three years, the possibility of opening the labor market in Malaysia has been created. The country will sign an agreement to open the labor market for Bangladesh.
