State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, made a significant announcement during a seminar titled "Branding Bangladesh" as part of the World Conference Series-2024 2024 organised by the Centre for NRB in Sylhet on Saturday.
He declared the establishment of dedicated protection cell for expatriates in every upazila, aimed at safeguarding their interests and ensuring support.
The seminar, chaired by Centre for NRB Chairperson MS Shekil Chowdhury and graced by Supreme Court Justice Khizir Ahmed Choudhury as the special guest, saw the participation of notable figures including former Chief of Bangladesh Air Force Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, Director of Bangladesh Bank Bayazid Sarker, and expatriate Rezaul Kabir Raj.
Among the attendees were also Ahtasamul Haque Chowdhury, Vice President of Sylhet Chamber; Barrister Faiz Uddin Ahmed; Writer and Educationist Mihir Kanti Chowdhury; Expatriate Shahab Uddin and Kaptan Hossain; and Ikramul Haque, President of Sylhet Press Club.
