BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that the previous caretaker government and the current government are not the same. This government has come at a critical moment, through the movement of students and mass people.
As a result, this government has to make reforms in various fields besides elections. For this, time should be given to the government for reforms and we have to cooperate with them by showing patience.
He said this while addressing at the inaugural function of the Shaheed Zia Memorial Football Tournament organised by Lalmonirhat district BNP at Barabari College ground on Tuesday afternoon.
He said, because of the negative discussion of the democratic forces, the allies of fascism are raising their heads again. Patience is the only way to solve the crisis facing the nation.
There is a need to complete state reforms and hold a fair and acceptable election. The immediate past fascist Awami League government always conspired, tortured, tortured BNP to destroy it. This Awami League has made about 700 people disappear by filing false cases against about 6 million people. They wanted to establish fascism, one-party rule by disappearing and murdering thousands of people.
Fakhrul called upon the government to refrain from appointing any one who may make the government controversial. Because the head of this government is a world famous person. We must remember that the nation should not miss the opportunity created by the student-led uprising to restructure the state.
If this opportunity is missed, our existence as a nation will be endangered. I want to emphasize this point.
Mirza Fakhrul said the market has gone out of control. The government should act to regulate the market. But when the elected government will come, all the existing problems will be solved. Elections and reforms are needed for this.
The BNP Secretary General said that Ziaur Rahman completely changed Bangladesh after getting the responsibility of managing the state. He brought one-party rule to multi-party democracy. He turned the closed economy into a free market economy. He created a new possibility in Bangladesh in every field and his founded party BNP has been struggling for a long time to establish the philosophy of Bangladeshi nationalism.
BNP has already come to power three times under the leadership of Khaleda Zia with the people. BNP is still fighting for democracy. Politicians not only aspire to return to power, they have sacrificed their lives, endured oppression and torture and worked tirelessly to free Bangladesh from the grip of Sheikh Hasina. Now you should cooperate with us. Don't try to mislead people by claiming that we are eager to return to power.
