In a bid to bolster the country's pool of insurance experts, the Financial Institutions Department of Bangladesh's Ministry of Finance has announced scholarships for aspiring individuals interested in pursuing Master's programs in Insurance Science and Insurance Management in the United Kingdom. The initiative, set to roll out in the academic year 2024-25, aims to address the growing demand for skilled insurance professionals within the nation.
The scholarships, funded by the government, are exclusively available for Bangladeshi candidates. To be eligible, applicants must meet certain criteria:
Hold an unconditional offer letter (full time) from Cass Business School (now known as The Business School) at City University of London for the Masters in Insurance Science degree. Applications with conditional offer letters will not be considered.
Applicants should be aged no more than 35 years as of March 31 of the current year. However, exceptions are made for candidates employed in key institutions such as the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, General Insurance Corporation, Life Insurance Corporation, and National Pension Authority, with an extended age limit of 40 years.
For government officers, the employment must be permanent, and any Master's degree completed abroad after joining the service will lead to disqualification.
This initiative not only presents a valuable opportunity for aspiring insurance professionals but also serves as a strategic move towards enhancing the expertise within the insurance sector of Bangladesh. Interested candidates are encouraged to seize this opportunity and contribute to the nation's growing demand for skilled professionals in insurance science.
