The 'Dhaka International Film Festival' has started with the theme 'Aesthetic Film, Thoughtful Audience, Enlightened Society'. This 19th film fest is dedicated to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Romantic comedy-drama film 'Gondi' directed by Fakhrul Arefeen Khan and produced by Gorai Films, took part in this festival.
The exhibition will be held at the Central Public Library auditorium on January 22 at 7 pm, festival authorities said.
Fakhrul Arefin Khan's 'Gondi' was released on February 7 last year along with about 20 cinemas across the country. The story of this film based on Shubhjit Roy's 'Pother Saathi' which revolves around two unidentified old people.
They live alone at home and their children live abroad.
One day these two people got introduced with each other, started knowing about themselves and decided to live together.
Their family became the obstacle. Sabyasachi Chatterjee, a well-known actor from West Bengal and Subarna Mustafa from Bangladesh have played the lead roles in the movie 'Gondi'.
Also starring Mohammad Bari, Aparna Ghosh, Majnun Mizan, Shubhashish Bhoumik, Payal Mukherjee.
'Gondi' has been filmed in Valentine's Park, Ilford, Enfield, Piccadilly Circus in London, UK, as well as several locations in Dhaka and Cox'ss Bazar.
