In Tangail's Ghatail, people who have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus have blocked the road after not receiving relief. They blocked the Tangail-Mymensingh road for about an hour and a half at Porabari in the upazila on Monday morning. Later, they lifted the blockade on the assurance of UNO, Upazila Chairman and UP Chairman.

Protesters complain they have not yet received government food aid. There is no food in their houses and the children are starving. No one, including local people's representatives, have offered help.

Upon receiving the news, UNO Anjan Kumar Sarkar appeared at the spot and calmed down the protesters. Protesters lifted the roadblock after he promised food aid as soon as possible.

UNO Anjan Kumar Sarkar said their names and addresses have been collected and if anyone else is left, they have been asked to list their names and send them to the upazila. Arrangements will be made to deliver relief to their homes quickly.
