Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated a piece of land to a beggar who donated Tk 10,000 from his earnings to buy food for the jobless in Shehpur. The PM also ordered the local administration to build a house  on it.

The donation came day after the charity of 80-year-old Nazimuddin drew the attention of the PM following widespread media coverage on his good deeds on Tuesday. Besides, local administration will set up a shop for the elderly to live by in addition providing free lifetime medical treatment from the government.

On Wednesday, Sherpur’s Deputy Commissioner Anar Koli Mahbub organised a reception for Nazimuddin at the former’s office and the PM’s instruction. PM’s personal secretary informed us about her instructions and local administration has begun working on the matter, Mahbub said. “I am so happy. I thanked PM for all of her arrangement for me,” said an elated Nazimuddin.
