Parliament Whip and Member of Parliament (MP) of Cox’s Bazar-3 Constituency Shaimum Sarwar Kamal said anarchists have caused destruction in Cox’s Bazar with gun powder. They repeatedly tried to set fire to important establishments in Cox’s Bazar, including Cox's Bazar International Airport.
There was information that they will set fire to Deputy Commissioner Office of Cox's Bazar, along with Cox's Bazar Municipal Office and loot the Sadar Model Police Station. They also planned to loot the jail.
However, the general students prevented them and saved the government and public properties of Cox's Bazar, he said.
Shaimum Sarwar Kamal came up with the assertion while speaking at a press briefing regarding the inauguration of anti-anarchy committee at the initiative of 14-Party Alliance arranged at the conference room of Cox’s Bazar municipality.
Parliament Whip and MP of Cox’s Bazar-3 constituency Shaimum Sarwar Kamal said a separate part of the students who are involved in BNP and Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir politics use the general students and create anarchy. Various places were set on fire by them.
The Whip said the anarchists would have set fire to various important establishments in Cox’s Bazar if the general students did not come forward that day. The anarchists were still able to set fire to some roads and shops. They used gun powder to set fire to those places.
Many important establishments, including Cox's Bazar International Airport, were saved because of the students. Everyone must be united to prevent the anarchists so that this kind of anarchy cannot occur in Cox’s Bazar again, said Kamal.
He also said the anti-anarchy committee was formed with the leaders and public representatives of the 14-Party Alliance to prevent any kind of anarchy.
Later, MP Shaimum Sarwar Kamal announced the name of the convener committee of 201-member anti-anarchy committee.
Chairman of Cox’s Bazar Zilla Parishad Shahinul Haque Marshal, Chairman of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Parishad heroic Freedom Fighter Nurul Absar, Mayor of Cox’s Bazar Municipality Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury, Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Awami League president Mahmudul Karim Madu, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Mohammad Hossain Masu and others were present at that time.
