The Ministry of Public Administration has announced that the gazette for the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) recruitment will be published soon. All preparations for this have been completed, according to officials.
Rahima Akhtar, Joint Secretary of the Recruitment, Promotion, and Transfer Subdivision, told the media: "The recruitment notice for the 43rd BCS will be issued very soon. We have finished our work and plan to release it this week. We understand how anxious the candidates are."
This announcement comes nearly 10 months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) recommended candidates for the recruitment. The entire process has taken about four years to complete.
On December 26, 2022, the PSC announced the results for the 43rd BCS, recommending 2,805 candidates for appointment. Out of them, 2,163 were selected for cadre positions, while 642 were chosen for non-cadre positions. The written exam for the 43rd BCS began in July 2022, with results announced on August 20. A total of 9,841 candidates passed and participated in the oral examinations.
The preliminary exam results were released on January 20, 2022, with 15,229 candidates passing. The preliminary exam, held on October 29, 2021, saw 442,832 applicants, making it the second highest number of applicants in BCS history.
The PSC originally issued the notice for the 43rd BCS on November 30, 2020, to fill 2,218 vacant posts. The application process started on December 30, 2020.
The official gazette is now expected to complete the recruitment process for the 43rd BCS, bringing relief to the candidates who have been waiting for their appointments.
