Disney has announced that "Frozen 3" will make its theatrical debut on November 24, 2027, just in time for Thanksgiving. The highly anticipated sequel follows the success of its predecessors, both of which were released around the same holiday and became massive $1 billion hits.
The studio also unveiled plans for a new Pixar film, "Hoppers," set for release on March 6, 2026. Featuring Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan, "Hoppers" is a body-swap comedy about a young girl who uses technology to delve into the minds of animals.
"Frozen," released in 2013, captivated audiences worldwide with nearly $1.3 billion in earnings and two Academy Awards. Its 2019 sequel outperformed even the original, earning $1.45 billion and setting records as the highest-grossing animated film until recently. The franchise, known for iconic songs like “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, also inspired a successful Broadway musical.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that work is underway on both "Frozen 3" and a potential "Frozen 4." The films will continue with new music from the acclaimed songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Director Jenn Lee, who helmed the first two films, is spearheading the development of these eagerly awaited sequels.
