In memory of Ikramul Haque Sajid, a student of Jagannath University who died in the anti-discrimination student movement, his classmates kept a seat vacant during their examination.
Though he is not in this world anymore, his classmates kept his exam table empty and covered it with the national flag of Bangladesh and placed a bunch of fresh flowers to pay tribute to him. The tribute took place at Jagannath University on Sunday during the examination of Masters first semester of the Accounting and Information Management department. In this regard, Sajid's friend Roni said, “Sajid and I sat on the same bench in the last two midterm exams of his life. Today in the semester final exam, Sajid returned as a bunch of flowers among us.”
Professor Dr. Shamsun Nahar, Chairman of the Department of Accounting and Information Management, said, “Sajid was my direct student. If Sajid were alive today, he would have come to give the exam. So we took this initiative with the students to remember him. Sajid will be remembered in our department forever.”
However, the deceased student Ikramul Haque Sajid died in Combined Military Hospital on August 14 after being shot in the city's Mirpur on August 4 during the anti-discrimination student movement.
