Veteran freedom fighter Afzal Hossen Sikder (Bir Bikkram) died of old age complications at Jashore Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Friday morning.
He was at 80.
He left two sons,four daughters and many more to mourn his death.
Afzal Shikder's younger son Shah Alam confirmed the death and said that on Thursday night, his father became very ill.
Later he was taken to Jashore CMH hospital. He died there 9:40 am on Friday.
Lohagora Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Asgar Ali said, Veteran freedom fighter Afzal Hossen buried with state honour after Asar prayer at family grave yard in Dhopadah village under Lohagora upazila in the district around 5:30 pm.
