Four women will contest in the upcoiming Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) election to take place on October 26.
Apart from Mahfuz Akter Kiron, a incumbent executive member of the BFF, Bikrampur Kings vice-president Tasmia Rezwan Binti, Gaibandha District Football Association member Mahmuda Khatun Aditi and BAFUF's current technical committee member Roshan Akhtar Haider Daisy are among those collected nomination papers.
Bangladesh is the defending champion of South Asia in women's football and the under-19 and under-16 teams are also champions of SAFF, Mahfuza Akhtar Kiran, who is the chairperson of BFF's women's wing, was also the councilor member of FIFA for twice, has made a big contribution to the development of women's football in the country.
In 2016, Mahfuza Akhtar Kiran and Kamrun Nahar Dana participated as women candidates for the first time in BFF elections when Kiran won and Dana lost.
This time, a record four women have collected their nomination papers to contest in the membership post in the BFF elections. But, finally who will remain in the final battle of the polls will be known after releasing the final candidate list. Aall three challengers of Mahfuza Akhtar Kiran are new faces in the BFF polls.
Tasmia Rezwan Binti has been serving as the vice-president of Vikrampur Kings for several years. She is the wife of Abu Naim Sohag, former general secretary of the BFF.
