Four expelled, 604 absent on first day

The SSC and equivalent examinations started in Mymensingh Division on Thursday like other parts of the country in a fair and peaceful environment.

The vigilance team as well as the authorities concerned of the education board visited the centres to make the examination fair. Before the examination on the first day, there was a crowd of students and parents in front of the centres. 

On the first day, four students were expelled for unfair means under the board in the Bengali first paper exam. Of them, two in Mymensingh, one in Jamalpur and one in Sherpur. The board's examination controller Prof Md Samshul Islam said that no news of any untoward incident has been received.

Around 1 lakh 6 thousand 35 candidates participated in the SSC examination in 155 centres on the first day of examination under the Mymensingh Education Board (MEB). Among them, the number of participating candidates is 1 lakh 5 thousand 431 and the number of absentees is 604.

In the morning, Education Board Chairman Prof Md Abu Taher and Deputy Commissioner Didare Ashar Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury visited various examination centres including Mymensingh District School and Vidyamoyi Government Girls High School. After visiting the examination centres, Education Board Chairman Prof Md Abu Taher said that four SSC examinations have been completed peacefully in this board. In continuation of this, he sought everyone's sincere cooperation to complete the exams peacefully this time.
