Four children, including two siblings, drowned while taking bathe in a pond in Argi Naogaon (Nama Sherpur) area under Naogaon municipality of the district on Saturday afternoon.
The victims were identified as Suraiya, 10, daughter of Tuku Mandal, Farhad Hossain, 6, son of Tuku Mandal, Khadija Khatun, 8, daughter of Salam Mandal and Ayesha Khatun alias Asha, 10, daughter of Anwar Hossain, residents of Argi Naogaon Sherpur area of the municipality.

According to the locals, the four children went to the pond for taking bathe without anyone noticing. The family members started searching. At one stage, the bodies of the four children were recovered from the pond.
Later, they were taken to the Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctor declared them dead.
