Members of 14 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) detained four members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) and recovered hand grenades, shooter gun, weapons and ammunition during a drive at the Rohingya camp at Ukhiya in Cox's Bazar on Sunday.
The detainees are Amir Hossain, 29, son of Din Mohammad, Ziaur Rahman, 32, son of Fazal Karim, Syedul Amin, 30, son of Abdus Salam and M Harun, 22, son of Badshah Mia.
The operation was conducted at Bagan hill outside the barbed wire boundary of Rohingya Camp-20 at around 2:45am.
Captain of the 14-APBN (Additional DIG) Mohammad Iqbal confirmed the matter at a press briefing on Sunday.
According to 14-APBN sources, the members of APBN conducted a drive on information that some armed individuals had gathered at Bagan hill of Rohingya camp in Ukhiya for sabotage. At one stage of the operation, the APBN members detained four Rohingyas and seized arms and ammunition, including guns, four hand grenades and bullets from their possession.
At the press briefing, 14-APBN Captain said the four detainees are members of Arsa and are accused in multiple cases, including murder, kidnapping, arms, and extortion.
