Prof Dr M Amanullah, former State Minister for Health and Family Welfare and president of Mymensingh’s Bhaluka Upazila Awami League, has passed away at the age of 88.
He breathed his last at his residence in the capital on Thursday evening.
He left behind his wife, a son and a daughter and a host of relatives, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Dr M Amanullah was an advisor to the Central Swechasebak League, an MP elected four times from the Mymensingh-11 constituency.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Friday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former state minister for health and family welfare.
In a message of condolence, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque also expressed deep shock at the death of his ministry’s former state minister.
In a condolence message, Zahid said Dr Amanullah was dedicated to developing the country’s health sector during his tenure in the ministry.
The health minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Incumbent MP of Mymensingh-11 constituency Kazim Uddin Ahmed Dhanu, Woman MP Monira Sultana Moni, former chairman of Bhaluka UP and general secretary of Awami League Golam Mostafa, Upazila Parishad chairman Abul Kalam and municipal mayor Dr. Mezbah Uddin Qayyum, Upazila Awami League, its members and allied organisations have expressed deep shock at the death of Prof Dr M Amanullah.
