Renowned presenter and producer Hanif Sanket has been showcasing the beauty of Bangladesh's folk culture, history, and traditions to foreign nationals for over two decades. What began as a small gathering of 10-12 foreigners has now grown to include hundreds of participants from various countries, including the USA, Australia, Japan, Germany, Italy, China, Ireland, Nigeria, Norway, and the Philippines.
Through these cultural events, foreigners get a glimpse of rural life, superstitions, social issues, and sporting traditions. Hanif Sanket and his team present these aspects of Bangladeshi culture in Bengali, and the events culminate in a beautiful display of diversity and joy. For the past two years, Hanif Sanket has organized this event every Eid, and it has become a beloved tradition for foreigners living in Dhaka.
Despite their busy schedules, foreigners make time to rehearse and participate in the episode. After their brief appearance on the show, they are delighted when the audience recognizes them and praises their characters.
When asked about working with foreigners, Hanif Sanket said, "They are amateurs, but many professional artists also have a lot to learn from them." He also praised the punctuality, devotion, concentration, patience, and sincerity of the foreign participants.
This year's Eid special event will focus on the violence of middlemen in the marketing of agricultural products and the various problems faced by marginal farmers. The show will also include a dance performance featuring foreign participants.
The event will air simultaneously on BTV and BTV World after the Bengali news broadcast on the day after Eid. The program, written, directed, and presented by Hanif Sanket, is produced by Fagun Audio Vision and sponsored by Kaya Cosmetics Limited.
