Popular small-screen actress Tanjin Tisha took to Facebook Live on Thursday to address and dispel rumours circulating about her alleged suicide attempt.

The rumours surfaced on Wednesday midnight, prompting Tisha to share a status on her Facebook profile to clarify her condition.

During the Facebook Live session, Tisha explained: "I want to clear up the rumour for everyone. The thing is, I was suffering from food poisoning last night. I was mentally and physically exhausted as I had been shooting for the last twenty days. So, I took a sleeping pill.”

“The pill I took was more powerful than the prescribed one. As a side effect, I vomited and went to the hospital for medical help. The medical people mistook this incident as an attempt at suicide."

She further detailed that after receiving first aid at a government hospital, she was transferred to a private hospital for observation.

Tisha reassured her well-being, stating: "I am fine now. I am healthy to start my work again."

The incident unfolded when Tisha fell ill unexpectedly at her residence in Rajarbag on Wednesday, leading to her hospitalization at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and later at Square Hospital in Panthapath.

Actors' Equity Bangladesh President Ahsan Habib Nasim confirmed the matter to the media.

The rumours surrounding the alleged suicide attempt were fuelled by speculations about Tisha's relationship with small-screen actor Mushfiq Farhan and alleged conflicts between them.

Responding to these rumours, Tisha emphasized that the incident of her father's death two years ago had made her resilient and that she would never attempt suicide.

She also announced plans to hold a press conference soon to address those who have harmed or attempted to harm her.
