Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud left Dhaka on Wednesday night for Brussels to attend the 3rd EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum to be held in the Belgium capital on February 2.
“I will have number of meetings on the sidelines of the Forum,” Mahmud told reporters at the foreign ministry on Wednesday.
The foreign minister said he will get only two and a half days for his engagements in Brussels and currently the foreign ministry is working on setting as many as possible bilateral meetings on the sideline of the forum.
“Let’s see how many meetings we can accommodate,” he said, adding that so far some meetings with his counterparts of other countries have already been scheduled.
The foreign minister recalled that he had 17 bilateral meetings in two days on the sidelines of the NAM Summit held in Uganda recently.
High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell will chair the forum.
The foreign minister will return to Dhaka on Sunday evening.
