Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur Md Zakir Hossain visited the char areas affected by river erosion in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram district on Friday. These char areas are surrounded by Brahmaputra river.
Md Zakir Hossain distributed relief goods to the flood affected people after visiting the areas affected by river erosion. Relief packages of 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulse, 1 kg of salt, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of soybean oil, 100 grams of chilli powder, 200 grams of turmeric powder, 100 grams of coriander and 10 pieces of water purification tablets were distributed to each of 130 families at Fakirer Char area under Begumganj union of the upazila arranged by the District Administration.
