Five women selected as 'Shreshtha Joyeeta' were felicitated at the Mymensingh divisional level. Besides, 14 district level winners of four districts of the division were also felicitated.
Najma Mubarek, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, was the chief guest at the departmental level award ceremony titled 'Bangladesh in Pursuit of Victory' at Mymensingh Advocate Tarek Smriti Auditorium on Sunday.
Under the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Mymensingh office of the Directorate of Women and Child Affairs and the Divisional Commissioner's Office jointly organised the award ceremony. In the event, a total of 19 people initially have been selected from four districts of Mymensingh division this year, five people were awarded the best winner award in five categories.
This time in Mymensingh Trishal Mst Anar Koli has achieved economic success: Achma Akter of Mymensingh Sadar who has achieved success in education and employment, successful mother of Netrakona from Kenduar Noorjahan Khanam, new energetic woman Mymensingh Trishal who has removed the horror of torture: Salma Begum (Mir Salma ) and Shamima Akhtar (Sumi) of Mymensingh Sadar was awarded in recognition of her outstanding contribution to social development.
Divisional Commissioner Umme Salma Tanzia presided over the event as the chief guest while Director General of the Directorate of Children and Women Affairs Kaya Khan, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Mohammad Azizur Rahman, Mymensingh Range DIG Md Shah Abid Hossain, Mymensingh District Awami League President Md Ehteshamul Alam and Deputy Director of the Directorate of Women and Children Affairs, Mymensingh, Nazneen Sultana spoke.
Besides, among the 14 other Joyeetas initially selected in five categories of the four districts of Mymensingh division, Most Farzana Bobby, Renita Nakrek, Ashrafunnisa Muslima, Most Dilshad Jahan Dalia and Sohagi Akhtar from Sherpur district, Shakila Ashraf won from Jamalpur, deleted: Salma, Abiren Necha, deleted: Fatema Begum, Masuma Yasmin. Saba Naureen, Kamrun Nahar and Afroza Begum won from Netrakona and Ambia Khanam from Mymensingh.
Officials of government and private institutions, students of various educational institutions and journalists were also present at this time. At the end of the ceremony, the winners were given crests and certificates.
