Five loan defaulters in Ctg banned from leaving country

Chattogram Finance Court Judge Mujahidur Rahman gave the order against 5 businessmen including husband, wife and son in 2 separate loan cases filed by United Commercial Bank Limited and National Bank Limited.

This information was confirmed by the Bench Assistant of the Debt Court, Rezaul Karim on Tuesday evening.

The defaulting businessmen are - the owner of import company M/s Exim, businessman Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan of South Khulshi area of the city, his wife Shammi Kabir and the owner of Shamsu Saw Mill in Mohra area, businessman Shamsul Alam, his wife Rokeya Begum and son Mizanur Rahman.  In the case filed by the National Bank, the court ordered to submit the passports of the businessman Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan and his wife against the loan of Tk 11,45,03,887.89/- claimed in the case filed by the National Bank as there is no real property collateral on the application of the National Bank on September 18.

On the same day, Judge Mujahidur Rahman of the Chattogram Finance Court applied for an injunction against the plaintiff bank Shamsul Alam and his wife and son due to the fact that the defendants had handed over the mortgaged property against Tk 66 crore claimed in the case filed by the United Commercial Bank and were trying to leave the country without paying the huge amount of debt.  He ordered the defendants to appear in court with their passports on September 20 and directed the Superintendent of Police (Immigration) of the Special Branch of Bangladesh Police to take necessary measures to prevent the defendants from leaving the country without the permission of the court.
