A five daylong dancing workshop organised by Teacher Student Cultural Center (TSCC) of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia ended on Saturday amid festivity.
The ending programme was held at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the university.
IU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari was present here as chief guest with Prof Dr M Zakaria Rahman, convener of the workshop in the chair.
Pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha and acting registrar S M Abdul Latif were present here as special guests while Soma Giri, dance trainer from India attended here as the honorable guest. The programme was jointly conducted by Chandan Das and Israt Anjum while over five hundreds teachers, students, officials of the university were present at the progamme.
Later, ‘Ami Shadhinota’ a choreography based dance drama narrating the history of Liberation War of Bangladesh staged for the guests and students of the university.
It was directed by Soma Giri, an eminent gambol trainer of India while more than 50 students from various department played the drama on the stage.
While addressing the event Prof Dr Rashid Askari said, ‘As human being, everybody should involve with such types of activities like dance, reciting and others extra curriculum activities for making peaceful society.
