Five coal-laden foreign ships anchor at Pyara port

Five foreign ships have anchored at Payra port with coal for Payra 1320 MW power plant to normalise the electricity situation in the country and continue production.

Five ships with 2 lakh 33 thousand 50 metric tonnes of coal have already crowded the inner and outer channel of Payra port on March 2.

Azizur Rahman, Deputy Director of Traffic Department of Payra Port, said that the coal unloading from the ships started Monday morning.

He said, MV Honey Badger carries 60 thousand 500 metric tons, MV Akra 37 thousand 50 metrictons, MV New Destiny 39 thousand 200 metrictons, MV Kiran Anatlia 35 thousand 800 metrictons and MV Hamburg Eagle 60 thousand 500 metric tons. These ships came from Indonesia with coal.
